Viks’ Eichert Named MVP of 4A Tourney

State coaches select the Lake Stevens junior as the tournament’s most valuable player.

LAKE STEVENS — The Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association named Lake Stevens junior outside hitter Laura Eichert the most valuable player for the WIAA State Volleyball Championship that occurred earlier this month in Yakima.

Lake Stevens finished fourth.

Crowds and opponents alike were astounded by the feats of the Viking captain, who helped Lake take eventual state champion Curtis to the edge of defeat, earning match point in what was ultimately a 5-set defeat.

The MVP announcement and Eichert preparing to serve.

Eichert was an all league and all state selection in each of her first two seasons and is a candidate for the 2024 Gatorade State Player of the Year.

The 2026 star is committed to the University of San Diego — more on that soon.
