Purple and Gold Pigskin and the Lake Stevens Viking program has been working with the Christensen family, owners of the Snohomish Alfy's, on a special presentation at tonight's game with regard to the Tyler Reside memorial. The Christensens contacted Purple and Gold Pigskin via the Lake Stevens Journal on Monday of their own volition.
I'm not sure how the story got twisted, but apparently someone who had knowledge of the situation confronted the Christensen's at work today and told them they were not welcome in Lake Stevens. The presentation will go on as planned but the Christensens no longer feel comfortable attending. This is real shame because I have been working with them and I know they have the best intentions, the presentation was their idea, and it is genuinely going to be an awesome moment.
I'm sorry for being vague, but it's supposed to be a surprise. I just wanted to get the message out because if folks are driving into Snohomish to yell at them, there must be some sort of misinformation going on.
I am headed out to meet with the Christensens a little later this afternoon. If anyone knows anything about this give me a call at 425.239.0638 or drop me an email at kevin.hulten@gmail.com and let's get this settled. Tonight is about the game and about Tyler so let's not start any petty turf battles, ya heard?
