Week Three Wesco Predictions
Last week: 8-5 (worst week ever).
Oak Harbor at Shorewood, 5 p.m.
Remember when the Wildcats won the 4A state championship like four years ago? What happened? Shorewood, 24-10.
Jackson at Snohomish, 7 p.m.
Two winless teams, but don't fool yourself into thinking they're the same...Jackson has lost close battles to MP and Arlington...Snohomish...has been outscored 95-0!!!! Jackson, 95-0.
Cascade at Marysville-Pilchuck, 7 p.m.
Cascade's coach told his players that Lake Stevens was the best team they'd face all year. I don't know about that, but it's not gonna be easy sledding for the Bruins in front of a sellout crowd at Quil Ceda. Tommies, 35-9.
Kamiak at Monroe, 7 p.m.
Should be a good opportunity for Anthony Berg to light up the stats sheet. Knights, 38-14.
Stanwood at Mariner, 7 p.m.
Mariner seems to be the stronger side, but the Spartans are notorious slow starters. Mariner, 21-17.
Lynnwood at Everett, 7 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium
Blech. Everett, 14-13.
Arlington at Ferndale, 7 p.m.
A real test for Riley Cobb and company. If McPherson play, I like the Eagles...Arlington 34-29.
Meadowdale at Edmonds-Woodway, 8 p.m. at Edmonds District Stadium
Looks like the game of the week, outside of Lake Stevens. EW seems ready to reclaim their traditional spot atop the South. EW, 27-24.
Glacier Peak at Shorecrest, 8 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium
GP are ya with me? Grizzlies 28-10.
Coupeville at Lakewood, 7 p.m.
Justin Lane throws for five TDs in 41-35 victorious battle.
Cedarcrest at Archbishop Murphy, 7 p.m.
Is Cedarcrest ready for the Poly Swarm. Nope. ATM 48-2.
Nebraska at Washington, Saturday, 12:30 pm
You want to be in the Heisman discussion Jake? You want to get to the Holiday Bowl or better Sark? You wanna get some public funding for that stadium Woodward? Well, then you better beat Nebraska. Lots of talk of 25,000 Nebraska fans descending upon Montlake but I find that hard to believe. Bo Pelini and his frosh QB (who has never played a college road game) have bot said that crowd noise won't be a factor. Probably one of the dumbest things you can do. I've always thought that "bulletin board material" was over rated with regard to players...but not so with the fans. You better believe that the Husky faithful will be in full voice Saturday. If the Dawgs can curtail the special teams errors and get a signature performance out of Jake, I see no reason they can't beat the Huskers and their freshman QB. The Huskies re-enter the Top 25 after a thrilling 24-21 victory.
Saints at 49ers, Monday, 6:00 pm
Eff word. What an embarassing debut for my Niners. And now Yahoo reports that the offensive coordinator doesn't know the plays and mumbles unintelligibly into the headset, causing Alex Smith to be even more confused. Maybe this is why the Niners burned three timouts in the first quarter, and then had three delay of games in the second quarter. Every bone in my body says the Saints will thrash the Niners, but Singletary IS a master motivator, and the Niners are at home...Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Patrick Willis and Dashon Goldson are healthy...Still, ah...screw it. 49ers 28 Saints 27.
