By the way, why can't we get Jake Huddle identified correctly? He wears someone else's name and the number 87 at practice, he's listed as #43 on the roster, and he wears #51 during games!!! Maybe it's a secret plan to confuse opposing offenses???
It was a beautiful day at the upper grass fields at LSHS today. Unfortunately, it was a short day for Viking FB/S Bo Dickinson, who was in full pads for the first time in weeks. Several minutes into practice, his footing gave way during an agility drill and he reinjured his sore ankle. Dickinson left practice and headed off campus for medical treatment.
I went down the the main field and watched the kickers work for a while...Arvid Isaksen and Alex Rowe were kicking field goals from all over the field. Isaksen in particular has really improved. He has been automatic on extra points and has shown range out past 45 yards in practice. The Junior, who's been kicking with a cast on his right arm, hopes to play receiver and safety next year. Isaksen is also an important part of the varsity basketball team's plans this season.
On the upper field, the defense got in lots of work against the Baker-led scout team. Coach Joe Cronin had the D working on nickle and dime coverages at the end of practice...
