It’s my dream to play softball at the collegiate level. Everything I do, on and off the field, is to ensure this happens. You will not find another athlete that works harder than me.

LAKE STEVENS - Ava Heston — a senior softball player for the Lake Stevens Vikings — committed to St. Martins University Wednesday in a signing day ceremony held at Lake Stevens High School.
Heston is a shortstop/center fielder with impressive quickness and a quick, powerful right handed swing.
According to a personal statement posted to a recruting site, Ava has played softball since 5 years of age.

“It’s my dream to play softball at the collegiate level. Everything I do, on and off the field, is to ensure this happens. You will not find another athlete that works harder than me. I work every day to improve my game, whether I am doing ladder drills to improve my footwork, completing my daily workout, watching college softball games, or just playing catch out front with my dad or brother,” Heston said.
Heston is a Running Start Student with a 4.0 GPA and an aggressive AP class load. She’s also a varsity basketball player and enjoys paddle boarding Lake Stevens, reading and hiking.
Her recruiting profile states that she can hit 60 mph on throws and 66+ mph on exit velocity.
Ava obviously made quite an impression on her coach – who was too overcome with emotion to say much about a student athlete who’d obviously made quite an impact.
