Viking Girls Start Hoops Season with a Home Win Over Meadowdale

LAKE STEVENS — Fans had to sit through a bit of slow start at the Lake Stevens girls basketball home opener tonight, but ultimately head coach Seth Dodge and the Viks got the desired result.
The slow start?
Literally Meadowdale’s fault: the bus showed up an hour late, claiming they had trouble finding the venue.
Things got started an hour late but eventually Lake Stevens claimed the 51-46 home victory Monday night over their 3A guest Meadowdale.



Noelani Tupua, the Viks’ six-foot junior guard led all scorers with 22.
Lexi Zardis paced Meadowdale with 14.
