Video: This is why we need to chase bad guys
Local leaders including LS mayor Brett Gailey say citizens are sick of crime, tell Olympia to let cops catch criminals again
The above video is a joint production of area law enforcement regarding the sharp increase in crime and obstacles they face in policing, including legislation barring officers from pursuing stolen cars.
Statement from Lake Stevens Mayor Brett Gailey:
I am proud to join my fellow mayors, police chiefs, and the sheriff in the making of this video which gives you a view into the current-day challenges facing law enforcement and the safety of our communities.
Public safety is my top priority, I dedicated a career to it as a former police officer. We must restore tools to law enforcement to pursue criminals and make arrests for illegal drug use and possession.
These steps are necessary to keep our communities and families safe.
