Vax Mandate: LSSD Tops 90% Vaccination Rate
Two employees fired, 11 pending, 100 accommodations approved

Lake Stevens School District administrators (LSSD) largely avoided the unappealing duty of handing out pink slips as Governor Jay Inslee’s statewide vaccine mandate swept into place Monday.
Over 90 percent of Lake Stevens School District’s 1,191 employees are fully vaccinated, according to LSSD spokesperson Jayme Taylor, who confirmed that as of Tuesday, 1,077 employees had achieved vaccinated status.
Of the other ten percent or so, the district Human Resources Department is working with 100 district employees to complete the mandate — via vaccination or accommodation.
Two employees were fired.
“Two employees received notice of non-disciplinary dismissal for failing to meet the requirements of the mandate,” Taylor said Tuesday.
