LOS ANGELES — The multi-year manhunt for the teen who led police on a high speed chase that ended in a triple vehicular homicide came to a close last week with an arrest in Southern California. Police had earlier arrested a local 18-year-old on weapons charges related to the crash.

The horrific collision involved a speeding car, filled with armed teens, evading police on Airport Road at high speed.

The incident ended in a mass casualty crash into a roadside homeless encampment after the driver lost control and slid broadside into a crowd of bystanders, killing three people and critically injured two others.

Onlookers told police that five occupants exited the car and fled the scene on foot.
