Undefeated Viking Soccer Hosts Defending Champs Wed, 7 pm
The Lake Stevens girls punched a ticket to State with a 2-1 win over Bothell Saturday. They can make a real statement Wed at home vs. #2 Skyline
LAKE STEVENS — Viking soccer is through to state for the first time in modern history (at least head coach Prato Barone isn’t aware of any precedent) and the undefeated Wesco champs have a chance to improve their seeding… and send a message of intent to defending champion Skyline…who visit Lake Stevens Wednesday as the Wesco/Kingco District 1 playoffs continue
Lake is already guaranteed a spot at state, but their seeding could use some boosting, as various rating sites place the Viks between 10th and 20th overall despite their current unbeaten record.
Skyline comes in with one loss, last year’s title and is currently ranked second.
The Viks dispatched Bothell Saturday 2-1 behind goals from sophomore Noelani Tupua and junior Keira Tupua, pictured above.
The sisters have 18 and 10 goals already, respectively.
