In 2010, City of Lake Stevens leaders embarked on a "subarea plan" dividing Lake Stevens into four "subareas". Part of the J425 State of Development series.

The Subarea Plan

In 2010, the City Council adopted a longterm economic development strategy that focused on dividing the greater Lake Stevens area into specific “growth centers” in order to, as city documents put it: “enhance opportunities for economic success that support the community and visitors.”
