Leaders of Jackson Drug Trafficking Org Facing Life in Prison
Marty Jackson, former nom-violence activist, looking at 20 years in prison on conspiracy charges
Matelita “Marty” Jackson—a decorated Seattle non-violence activist and former executive director of the SE Network SafetyNet—is staring down the barrel of 168 to 210 months in federal prison after a recent plea deal collapsed. But her exposure is just the tip of the iceberg. The rest of her immediate family faces staggering federal sentences in the multi-state Jackson Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) case.
With a wave of the original 30 co-defendants recently admitting to roles in the conspiracy, the avenues for negotiated settlements have virtually vanished for the DTO’s senior members. In short, federal prosecutors have successfully isolated three generations of the Jackson-Patu family for high-level convictions.
With trial dates set for mid-2027, the Justice Department’s recommended sentencing ranges paint a devastating picture:
Marquis Jackson, 32: The DTO’s Atlanta-based leader and Matelita’s son faces life in prison. His exposure is driven by numerous weapons and drug enhancements, compounding a rap sheet that includes a 2014 drive-by shooting.
Markell Jackson, 22: Described by the feds as a co-leader
