Former Archbishop Murphy Science Teacher John Robert Doty Charged with Multiple Felonies After Detectives Found a Sickening Collection of Child Pornography at Doty’s Juanita Home

Doty told detectives that he didn’t have a sexual interest in kids, he just found it exciting to know that he was doing something illegal, referring to the act as his “crime game” and his “crime roulette”. 

KING COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT – A former Archbishop Murphy teacher is out of a job late Tuesday after he was charged with two felony child porn counts in King County Superior Court on Monday, February 24. 

John Robert Doty, 32, taught science at Archbishop Murphy High School, where he’d been employed since August of 2023. 

That employment ended less than 24 hours after charges were filed in Seattle on Monday, when the private school took the type of decisive action rarely exhibited by public schools in similar cases, quickly severing ties with the alleged sex criminal. 

Per charging documents filed with King County, no Archbishop Murphy students are involved in the alleged crimes – and none of the criminal activities described in charging documents involved Doty’s work at Archbishop.

In short, the guy was caught downloading some of the most disgusting child porn imaginable in the comfort of his own home. 

And as it turned out, Doty was more than happy to talk about it.
