Notes: Oak Harbor out of 4A, Stickney Update, Balanced Scoring Helping Vikes
Found a couple other notes worth passing along while taking a break from the Jake Locker celebration still ongoing at my house.
The Seattle Times reports that Oak Harbor - who won the 4A state championship just three years ago - will drop to 3A classification next season. This removes a tough Viking opponent from Wesco 4A North, and further balances Wesco - which will have 11 4A squads and eight 3A squads next season.
The Times' Darren Fessenden has a nice update on the Viking basketball squad, noting that balanced scoring has been a hallmark of this year's squad. The ninth-ranked Vikes host Monroe tonight at 7:30.
Fessenden also passes along a note on former Viking start Sean Stickney - Stick is averaging 17 points and 10 boards per game up at Skagit CC.
