LAKE STEVENS — The Lake Stevens School District is ten days from announcing a new superintendent, and the final stages of the selection process began in earnest last Friday as the application deadline closed.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), the Board of Directors will receive a screening update during the 6:00 pm public meeting, in which the board’s hired search consultant will update the board and community on the depth and quality of the field of applicants.
Between Tuesday and preliminary interviews scheduled for Saturday, the board will have the opportunity to privately vet candidates and engage in research and backgrounding. On Saturday, the board will conduct preliminary interviews before narrowing the search to three finalists in executive session on April 13.
The community is invited to join the process at the final stage of evaluation next week.
Finalists will address the community during a 6 pm public forum running consecutive nights next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (April 16 - 18). You’re invited to pre-submit your questions here.
According to the consultant’s description of the process, “these forums will include open question-and-answer sessions and the feedback from those in attendance will be solicited prior to the board's executive session to evaluate the candidates.
