LYNNWOOD — The family of Jayda Woods-Johnson, 13, is irate that the 16-year-old charged with her murder was set free Friday afternoon.

Jayda’s mother Tabatha Johnson called the news “completely unreasonable” while Jayda’s aunt Cheryl Huffman told KOMO 4 Seattle that she was heartbroken.

“It is extremely painful knowing the person who murdered your baby girl is out walking free in under 24 hours.” Huffman told KOMO.

“We are sickened and even more troubled to learn (that) the court has failed to protect our daughter and any future victims,” said Woods-Johnson’s family in a statement released through Lynnwood Police.
