Missing Marysville-Pilchuck Cheerleader’s Body Found

Sixteen-year-old Jenzele Couassi was battling severe depression and is believed to have taken her own life. Hundreds grieved at vigil last night.

MARYSVILLE — “My daughter is missing and suicidal. Please help us find her.” 

Just 48 hours ago the mother of 16-year-old Marysville cheerleader named Jenzele Couassi issued this urgent appeal for help across social media.

Late yesterday, Tulalip police confirmed that a body found near Battle Creek on the Tulalip Reservation was identified as Jenzele.

“Sadly, the deceased person found near the Tulalip Teen Center has been identified as the missing 16-year-old Janzelle1 Couassi,” a Tulalip Police Department spokesperson confirmed.
