LAKE STEVENS - Viking GBB head coach Randall Edens will leave Lake Stevens for the head coaching job at Issaquah, opening up a prime coaching slot for leaders interested in developing arguably the best slate of talent in decades.
And it just so happens that some of the most talented players in the Viking programs come from highly respected basketball-coaching mothers.
But first, congratulations are in order to Coach Edens, who announced his new coaching job yesterday, saying he’d remain on staff in Lake Stevens as a teacher.
“This has been a special place where we’ve had a lot of success… creating an environment to empower young women to be successful,” Edens said.
Edens led the Vikings to a 15-8 season and a district playoff appearance last season.
His daughter Ella, a four year letter-winner, graduated yesterday.
