Jayden Limar to Host First Annual Free Football Camp in Lake Stevens July 11
The UW back and all time leading Viking rusher’s inaugural camp is free for kids ages 6-14. Registration info included below.
LAKE STEVENS — Jayden Limar, the all-time leading rusher in Lake Stevens High School history, is coming home July 11 to host his First Annual Youth Football Camp. Jayden isn’t just hosting the camp, the University of Washington running back is picking up the tab: this is a totally free event for kids aged six to 14.
Limar aims to provide a fun and competitive environment for local youth while emphasizing his core message of faith, family, and football.
The 2023 Lake Stevens grad said his foray into the realm of summer camps is motivated by a desire to mentor young athletes.
“As I continued my football journey and earned the opportunity to play at the next level, I realized how important mentorship, community, and positive role models are for young athletes,” Limar told J425.
“That’s…the reason I created this camp — to give back to the next generation and help young athletes build confidence, character, and love for the game,” Limar said.

Leadeship is an innate skill for the 2022 state champion. Limar was a leader far before he was a captain. The Viking great functioned as an auxiliary coach at Lake Stevens, leading running back drills and teaching his younger teammates during high school days when the Viks lacked a dedicated position coach.
That natural leadership translated directly to the field during his historic 2022 senior season. Limar led Lake Stevens to a 12-2 record and the program’s first Class 4A state title in its 100-year history. Despite suffering an ankle injury in the semifinals, he pushed through the pain to carry the ball 33 times for 193 yards in a 24-22 championship victory over Kennedy Catholic.
Along the way, the standout back rewrote the local record books. Limar passed Andrew Grimes to set new program records with 4,232 career rushing yards and 66 rushing touchdowns, finishing his high school career with 78 total touchdowns.

His dominant 2022 campaign alone featured 2,026 rushing yards, an average of 9.1 yards per carry, and a single-season record of 41 total touchdowns, earning him the prestigious Gatorade Washington Football Player of the Year honor.
Now, the star tailback is bringing his talents back to his home state. After spending three seasons at the University of Oregon, Limar transferred to the Washington Huskies for his senior season.
A phone call from former UW running back Myles Gaskin, who urged Limar to “come home,” cemented his decision.
At Washington, Limar is stepping into a familiar veteran role, tasked with using his teaching abilities to mentor a young running back room while enjoying the benefit of playing closer to his family.
