Lake Running Back Jay Ferrell Earns First Team All State Selection
Washington State Football Coaches Association (WSFCA) tabs Lake Stevens junior for All State honors after 25-touchdown season. Ferrell joins three other Viking juniors on team.
LAKE STEVENS - Junior running back Jay Ferrell of the Lake Stevens Vikings was recognized with a Washington State Football Coaches Association First Team All State selection today.
Ferrell earned the first team honors after a stellar season in which the first year starter rushed for 1,764 yards on 177 carries, an average of ten yards per rush.
Ferrell compiled a total of 25 touchdowns, 24 on the ground and boasted two 200+ yard performances in the Viks’ playoff run: a 17 carry, 239 yard and four TD performance against Woodinville and a 20 rush for 222 yard 3 TD day against Moses Lake.
The first year starter ran a 4.48 40 at the Vikings Spring Combine, one of the fastest times in team history.
Ferrell broke a 73-yard touchdown against Sumner on the first play of the season and went on to break off ten rushes of 50 yards or more.
