Where to start after a grueling 18-14 victory over Mariner. How about
with a few game balls?
- Garek Stuart - This guy is damn good. Where did he come from? He
dominated super-prospect Mychael Tuiasosopo at the line of scrimmage
and provided the toughness the Vikes needed. Also the fourth captain.
- Brennan Frost - Holy $&@! An 80 yard cutback TD run on his first
varsity carry? A Kirk Gibson-like performance inthe 4th quarter,
hobbling in on a cramping leg to sub a cramping Reside - and
theintercepting the third down pass to seal the game? Oh yeah, he also
punted and kicked off like a pro.
- Bryson Daggett - Went 1-6 to start, but then steadied the ship.
Completed 7 straight to start the second half. Had a key 33 yard
scramble. Threw several balls that were dropped. Played like a leader
in the second half.
- Arvid Isaksen - in his first start at WR, Arvid led the team in
receptions, showed sure hands and an ability to run after the catch,
caught a 2-point conversion on a broken play and kicked a FG and two
extra points.
- The Defense - After allowing two long TD's to Mariner's ultra
talented soph back in the first quarter, these guys shut the door.
Created four turnovers (3 int) and also had a key 4th down conversion.
Cheers to the boys for shutting down the dreaded Wing T.
