J425 broke the story 9 months ago. Now we’re into the aftermath and we’ve got the info on criminal exposure for fraudulent homeless student designations

J425 broke the Roosevelt Transfer Scandal Oct. 3, 2024. We told you then that the Seattle school — who’d improperly recruited a key Lake Stevens player, catching our attention — was abusing the Federal McKinney Vento Act homeless student program in order to circumvent WIAA eligibility rules. We gave you this info EIGHT MONTHS before legacy media published the WIAA report (which validated our reporting).

As a result, the head coach is out. The assistant coach is out. The principal is out. And sanctions stretch all the way to the Seattle Schools district office. But that’s just WIAA sanctions. Now we’re reporting on federal criminal exposure coming from insider payments, civil rights issues — and from the fraudulent McKinney Vento applications.
