Drugs, Guns and Stolen Cars: Major Lake Stevens Crime Ring Hit by SWAT
Friday raid results in felony arrest; stolen machine guns and multiple pounds of heroin, meth and fentanyl
More than five law enforcement agencies including Snohomish County SWAT swarmed a Lake Stevens property Friday, executing a warrant that resulted in the seizure of over thirty guns, four stolen vehicles and multiple pounds of fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin and opiate pills.
The raid resulted in the arrest of Dana Tyler Krum of Lake Stevens, who was booked into Snohomish County Jail Friday and charged with multiple felony drug and weapons counts.
According to Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney, the Snohomish County Regional Drug Task Force, Violent Offender Task Force, Region 1 SWAT, Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force, and Snohomish County Sheriffs Office Patrol collaborated to serve a criminal arrest warrant targeting a nuisance property that had been under law enforcement surveillance for some time.
The material turned up by the raid is indicative of major organized crime activity.
According to LEO sources, many of the weapons were of the illegally-modified fully-automatic variety, including a fully-automatic “switched” Glock 19 handgun with a 50 round drum and numerous AR platform assault rifles.
Ironically, the fencing of the Lake Stevens property targeted for the raid included an election sign supporting Sheriff Adam Fortney as well as a hand-made sign warning passerbys that illegal activity was occurring ote.
There i much information available on Krum at this time, aside from lengthy court records that indicate previous felony charges, convictions and high-bond holds.
Curiously, Krum may have been the “victim” of a high-profile hit-and-run accident that made headlines a few years ago.
According to court records, Krum was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Zachary Kier during a high-speed felony hit-and-run chase. Kier plowed a stolen car into an elderly couple and left the scene on foot. His passengers, including Krum, were found inside the wrecked vehicle alongside stolen guns and methamphetamine.
Apparently, Krum was on life support for some time as a result of the crash. Krier was convicted on multiple felony charges.
“I can’t thank everyone involved enough for your hard work in getting this done today,” Sheriff Fortney wrote in a Facebook post on today’s operation. “The streets of Snohomish County are a little bit safer tonight because of this investigation.”
At this time, The Journal 425 is unable to verify the address of the property. This is a developing story and due to the high profile nature of the seizure and the activity indicated by the massive presence of drugs and weaponry, the J425 will be following this story closely to ascertain the nature of the activity occurring at Mr. Krum’s residence.
