Comcast got back to us today and told us the following:
Comcast and our production company had every intention of filming this game until we heard from Lake Stevens before the event. The school said that unfortunately they wouldn’t be able to support filming the game because they had quite a bit of trouble with their power supply. Apparently their power had been shorting out on a regular basis. They were afraid that the additional power that would be used by the production team might add to the problem.
I checked with the district office, and they weren't aware of any contact with Comcast. I have emailed the football program to see if Comcast's response is truthful (I've had issues with Comcast before, so I take their response with a grain of salt).
If, two years after some power outages affected the Graham-Kapowsin playoff game, we still are worried about a power short due to plugging in a couple cameras digital cameras and mics...then we need to see what we can do to rectify the problem through maintenence, fund raising, whatever.
Comcast plans to televise all playoff games.
