Sailors Reach out to J425 with Early Reports of NAS Whidbey Lockdown
Updated - ALL CLEAR. Waiting on further reports, developing.

6:18 pm — ALL CLEAR sounded over base PA.
5:56 pm - Official sources now confirm what we first reported 75 minutes ago - NAS Whidbey is in lockdown due to a reported active shooter.
Our E6 source in Oak Harbor gave us the news a good 35 minutes before legacy media reported the active shooter lockdown. And while the all clear was sounded shortly after 6:00pm, we’re waiting to hear what occurred.
According to Thomas Mills, the deputy public affairs officer for the naval base, base security responded to a location “north of Oak Harbor”.
All base personnel at Ault Field were ordered into lockdown status and all gates were closed, Mills said.

All personnel on Ault Field were ordered to seek shelter and stay in place, Mills said.
Mills added that he has not received reports that anyone is injured.
Scanner traffic says local law enforcement approached gate and offered assistance, was waived off. Will update.
