Boxer Imane Khelif: Biological Male Who Set Out to Deceive Olympic Competitors; Four Sources Confirm Khelif’s Male Status
After Khelif was served with an IBA ban and results showing male chromosomes and high testosterone, fighter decided against an appeal and set out to disguise his appearance ahead of the Paris games
Editor’s Note: Given all of the confusion created by the legacy media’s inability to clearly report what is — at its heart — just another fact-based story, J425 set out last week to obtain the necessary sourcing to write a straight news story detailing whether Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was male or female. This published account is the result of that effort, and the reporting/sourcing far exceeds the minimum amount an editor would require to publish a controversial story. In a day and time when anonymous sourcing runs rampant, we were able to obtain four on-the-record accounts from primary sources with direct knowledge of the subject matter - this in addition to a primary source document that laid out facts corroborated by the sources. J425 has scoured the AP, NY Times and Athletic reporting on this topic, all of which arrives at a different conclusion but does so largely without evidence. We are confident enough to bet our libel insurance policy on the veracity of the reporting that follows, and that’s because instead of arriving at ideological conclusions, we rely only on the statements of those with knowledge of the matter, combined with direct evidence. Objective truth matters and it remains the job of journalists to convey the truth to their audience irrespective of ideological ties. - KTH.
Summary of J425 Reporting
Olympic gold medalist Imane Khelif is a biological male with XY chromosomes and higher than average testosterone levels for a man of their size, according to tests run by the International Boxing Federation in 2022 and 2023.
The test results are corroborated here by four on-the-record sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
This includes Khelif’s coach who was present in the room when the results were delivered, the IBA President who reviewed the results, a former LA Times and NBC journalist who saw the tests, and a Spanish boxing commissioner.
Khelif’s coach confirmed that the test showed male chromosomes and testosterone levels.
A member of Khelif’s team says the boxer accepted his male status after visiting an endocrinologist and chose not to appeal the finding.
The endocrinologist reportedly told the boxer’s team that “there’s a problem with the genetics, there’s a problem with the hormones”.
From there, Khelif’s coach admits the boxer and his camp took steps to disguise Khelif’s male traits in order to pass as a woman for the Paris Olympics.
Khelif and his coaches used a battery of testosterone suppressants to prepare the boxer to pass a testosterone screening, if necessary, and to abate the fighter’s strong male characteristics.
As a result, the coach told MARCA radio that Khelif could presently “be compared to a female .”
“Too dangerous” A Spanish boxing commissioner says that Khelif injured every female he sparred with at a training camp hosted by Spain. The association paired Khelif with a top male boxer.
Khelif and a Taiwainese fighter tested positive for male chromosomes via 2022 and 2023 screenings at International Boxing Association events. The fighters were banned at the 2023 World Championships.
“We uncovered athletes who were trying to fool their colleagues and pretend to be women,” said the IBA President.
The IBA notified the Olympics of a possible safety and fairness issue with regard to Khelif and another boxer who tested XY in June of 2023. J425 has obtained this letter.
The IBA released evidence, statements, and even held a press conference to explain the reasoning for the boxer’s disqualification and had released details of the 2023 correspondence between the IBA, the boxers, and the International Olympic Committee.
The IBA is calling on Khelif to release the test results or immediately conduct a new transparent test with WADA.
IOC president says science is unable to determine if someone is female, despite the fact that most Olympic sports have adopted rules requiring women to verify their status with tests showing XX chromosomes.
After taking the gold medal allocated for a woman, Khelif sought victim status, asking France to open a criminal investigation into those who questioned her sex.

J425 has also obtained a June 2023 letter from the International Boxing Association (IBA) to the International Olympics Committee (IOC) in which the IBA informs the IOC that Khelif tested as a biological male and was this banned from competing against females.
Attached to the letter were copies of the laboratory reports verifying that Khelif possessed male XY chromosomes, high levels of testosterone and male reproductive organs.
The results identifying Khelif as male are based on samples taken at the 2022 and 2023 IBA World Championships.
