Updated: LSSD Bond Measure Fails
For the first time since the 1980's, voters failed to approve a Lake Stevens School District funding measure, as LSSD's $314 million bond fell short of 60% requirement
Update Nov. 6 — Snohomish County Elections processed another 2000+ ballots Wednesday but the percentages remain unchanged. The measure has failed.
LAKE STEVENS - For the first time since the 1980s, voters apparently rejected a Lake Stevens School District (LSSD) bond measure, with the district’s $314 million offering going down to apparent defeat after failing to reach the necessary 60% threshold in numbers released by Snohomish County Elections yesterday.
As of 5:00 pm Tuesday, 16,356 votes had been cast for the bond measure, with 9,187 voting to approve - a total that came up 627 votes short of the sixty percent threshold. Overcoming that deficit with the majority of ballots accounted for is unlikely. Results will be updated again today at 5:00 pm.
