4.41 Forty at UA Next — “There’s Fast. And Then There’s Blake Moser Fast.”
2027 QB Blake Moser (Lake Stevens) runs a laser-timed 4.41 forty yard dash at the UA NEXT Camp in Phoenix, placing him in the 87th percentile. For an NFL WR. (Quote from Coach Joel Vincent).
LAKE STEVENS — Alec Pierce, 25, is considered a premier deep threat in the NFL.
The Colts wideout led the NFL in yards-per-reception average in 2024 and 2025. The fifth-year big play machine was just rewarded with a $116 million dollar contract.
At the NFL Combine, Pierce ran a 4.41 40 yard dash with a 1.58 10 yard split, good for 87th percentile among all NFL wide receivers tested in combine history.
On Sunday in Phoenix, Lake Stevens’ All State quarterback BLAKE MOSER (5’11 176 ‘27) matched Alec Pierce’s tested speed, running a 4.41 40 yard dash. Via laser. At the national Under Armour UA NEXT Camp Series.
Moser’s Confirmed Times via UA Next
Within 24 hours, the University of Montana Grizzlies offered Moser, joining Idaho.
With his second D1 offer in hand and a confirmed 4.41 logged into the UA national database, expect Moser’s recruitment to pick up with alacrity.
Moser also measured at exactly his posted height and weight: 5’11 176. The junior standout added a 34.3 inch vertical and a 4.12 short shuttle.
The Montana offer is a good one. The Missoula-based Grizzlies are a perennial power in the Big Sky conference, finishing 13-2 last season.
They consistently churn out Power 4 transfer and NFL players — 65 draftees in their history. Montana has also offered Anacortes QB Ryan Harrington.
Pacific Northwest Prospects Star at UA Next
PHOENIX, AZ – The nation’s top invited football prospects from the classes of 2027 and 2028 gathered in Maricopa County last weekend for the Under Armour UA NEXT Camp Series – and the Pacific Northwest was well represented, with one rising Evergreen State prospect nabbing a camp MVP trophy and an offer from the hometown Dawgs before the weekend was over.
Representing Lake Stevens and the 425 was dynamic Lake Stevens Vikings 2027 quarterback BLAKE MOSER, the 2025 All State selection, appearing in his first major camp. Moser is coming off an electric 55-touchdown debut season as a starting QB.
“The QB group was easily the best position group, and best overall group there. And Blake acquitted himself nicely in that group.”
- Brandon Huffman, National Recruiting Analyst, Rivals/On3 media.
Moser’s campaign culminated in what would’ve been a state record five touchdown performance in the title game, if Sumner’s Lance McGee (2026 WSU commit) hadn’t scored six himself.
Also of note to Vikings fans was the appearance at the invite-only UA camp of rising SPSL star JAYCE HALASZ, a 2028 wideout and defensive back from Graham-Kaposwin, who lit up the Lake Stevens scoreboard with six catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns in the 2025 state semifinal matchup ultimately won by the Vikings, 44-35.
Given that the Vikings and Eagles seemingly meet at least once a year, it’s likely Halasz will play in front of Lake fans again soon.
J425 reached out to Rivals/On3 National Recruiting Analyst Brandon Huffman to check in on how the local players performed.
Brandon – an extremely busy man and a former northwest native – was good enough to share some time and insight with us.

Regarding the Vikings’ Moser, who picked up his second division one offer from Montana after the camp ( joining an offer from Thomas Ford and Idaho last month), Huffman had a positive report.
“The QB group was easily the best position group, and best overall group there. And Blake acquitted himself nicely in that group.”
Valley of the Sun local Will Mencl took home MVP honors for the quarterback position group. Mencl, an Oregon lean, is the top ranked QB – and ranked 4th overall – in the Class of 2027 by Rivals/On3.
Also appearing in Phoenix was Tacoma’s 2027 QB SIONE KAHOE (Lincoln), considered the top signal caller in the class for WA; and Anacortes quarterback RYAN HARRINGTON, a 2027 prospect with eight offers including Washington State and Idaho.
Kahoe has at least a dozen major offers including one from Montlake – but is considered a California lean by most recruiting services.
The 6’3” Halasz, who goes by the moniker “Slim Reaper”, broke onto the regional recruiting scene with a 12-catch, 186 yard breakout performance in the state quarterfinals at Gonzaga Prep.
Halasz also had a nice day, according to Huffman.
“Jayce looks like he’s continuing to add weight- he’ll need to continue to do so, but he’s smooth in his routes and a natural pass-catcher,” Huffman told J425.
The breakout star of the camp, from a PNW perspective, was 2027 Curtis lineman RASHAUN LAVATA’I, a 6’6+ 275-pound tackle who apparently dominated the trenches in the 602, winning lineman MVP and getting the call from Montlake’s Michael Switzer, offering the hometown scholarship Sunday.
Lavata’i is considered a top line prospect in WA for 2027 along with Puyallup’s GECOVA DOYAL (18 offers – attended Junior Day on Montlake last weekend), O’Dea’s TEVITA NONU (17 offers), Lake Stevens’ TY TAUTOLO (15 offers) and WILL LYNCH (six offers) as well as Rainier Beach’s ACHILLES REYNA (seven offers).
Glacier Peak’s 6’5’ 235-pound 2027 tight end ZACH ALBRIGHT is also a UW recruit with nine D1 offers, but the Grizzly big man was busy on the hardcourt in Tacoma on the weekend, with Glacier Peak obtaining a sixth place finish. Albright averaged 15 points and ten rebounds for the tourney, including a 24 point 13-rebound performance in the GP win over West Valley.
All five of Lake Stevens’ returning All State selections currently have division one offers, with Tautolo and Lynch leading the way. Wide receiver SETH PRICE is up to six offers and running back JAYVIAN FERRELL has two.
For G-K, their 2028 QB AJ TUIVAIAVE is considered the state’s best signal caller in his class. The 6’4, 240-pound righty was offered by Montlake while he was still in middle school. He’s considered a Husky lean by 247.com.
The Eagles’ leading receiver KASE BETZ also has a pair of D1 offers, and G-K defensive back MAURICE WILLIAMS is a 2027 Husky commit with 11 offers. Sumner wideout BRAYLON POPE is the top prospect for the state in 2027. Rivals rates him a high four star, top 100 overall player (76th overall in the Class of 2027). Pope committed to UW after winning the state championship.
